Forestry Tour FAQ's

What happens during a Skills Session?

Our Skills Sessions are structured, progressive coaching experiences designed to build confidence, control and bike-handling ability in a safe and supportive environment.

Each session lasts 45 minutes and progresses in difficulty throughout. Riders will start with fundamental skills before building towards more challenging elements as the session develops.

Because sessions build step-by-step, we may refuse admission once the session has started, to avoid disruption and ensure the safety and development of all participants.

Age Suitability

Sessions are suitable for children aged 2–12 years old.

Groups are structured appropriately to ensure children are coached at a level suitable for their age and ability.

Do children need to bring their own bike?

Yes, please bring your child’s own bike.

Children are far more comfortable and confident riding a bike they are familiar with.

A small number of demo bikes may be available on the day, but these cannot be guaranteed.

Do children need to be accompanied?

Parents and guardians must remain within contactable range for the duration of the session in case your child requires assistance.

You do not need to be directly involved in the session, but you must remain nearby and available.

Inclusivity & Accessibility

We are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all riders.

We are currently liaising with British Cycling regarding the Limitless programme and will share further details shortly.

If your child has additional needs, neurodivergence, or disabilities, please contact us in advance so we can discuss how best to support them.

Safety Equipment Requirements

All riders must bring and wear:

  • A helmet

  • Gloves

A limited number of helmets may be available on the day, but bringing your own is strongly recommended for comfort and fit.
